Our Mission

The mission of Mid Atlantic Shiba Inu Rescue is to assist in, fostering, rehabilitation and rehoming of Shiba Inu breed dogs in the upper Mid-Atlantic region. Our goal is to see each rescued Shiba placed in a suitable loving home.

About Us

We consist of a small group of volunteers who rescue Shiba Inus from owners and shelters throughout the upper Mid-Atlantic region. Our geographical area covered by Shiba Inu Rescue Mid-Atlantic Region is generally limited to, Maryland,D.C. and lower PA. We provide referral assistance for neighboring states. On occasion we will list availiable Jindos that are also in need of a home.

Our network of foster homes are sponsored by private individuals & volunteers. All Shibas that are placed in foster care are provided proper veterinary care, spayed or neutered and evaluated for best placement.

Volunteer resources and availability of foster homes determines how many surrendered Shibas we can assist at any given time. If we can not take a Shiba into foster care we will work with individuals on a referral basis.

The Shiba Inu Rescue Mid Atlantic Region, Inc representatives select families through an application process to allow us to make the most suitable match between adopter and Shiba.
