| We would like to remind those who travel with their pets that planning and preparation will assist in preventing pet loss.
While on road trips, use of a crate or a proper safety harness prevents a lost
pet during emergency roadside stops, snack breaks, and in the unfortunate
situation of a vehicle collision.
Shibas are very fast and when frightened can be very hard to catch. During an accident the first priority of emergency assistance crews is the welfare of the human occupants. If you pet is not restrained and the car door opens or window shatters your pet will escape during the chaos, either into on coming traffic or roadside fields & ditches, making recovery extremely difficult.
Do not hold your dog while driving. If the vehicle airbags deploy you and your pet will be injured.
Do yourself and your pet a favor; restrain your Shiba properly when driving out and about!!
Prepare, be aware, and protect your pet.

*Note as of June 15, 2005 PA has passed a new pet restraint law. PA dog seat Law coming your way soon!
