male, 7 years, 50 lbs.
Neutered, Current on shots, Current on heartworm prevention, Housebroken
This handsome guy is looking for someone who has plenty of love to give and the energy to match his playful personality. Don’t let the age fool ya. Max thinks he’s still a pup! Max had been in the care of his previous owners since he was a puppy, but due to their health issues they could no longer provide for him. He gets along great with all types of dogs and thinks playtime with his canine buddies should last all day. He loves human companionship and is a fast learner, but also has an independent quality to his personality, and for that reason would do better in a home with experienced dog owners. He gets nervous and anxious in new situations, and needs a family who is willing to put some time into building up trust with him at first. Once you gain his trust and respect you have a friend for life as Max becomes very attached to “his people”. He is not destructive and knows basic house manners but tends to be a little impatient (he just hates having to wait for things!). He has great leash manners and is a fabulous running and biking buddy, however; he is still a work in progress when it comes to bunnies and squirrels…he just loves to chase them! He needs a 6-ft fenced in yard to keep his curiosity from getting him into trouble. Max would thrive with a family who can provide structure and put some time into fine-tuning his obedience. If you are a dog-savvy family looking for a rewarding and loving dog -contact us about Max!
